Happy Friday the 13th! At Wrapped In A Ribbon, we hope your day is safe and lucky. Friday 13th has long been a harbinger of bad luck, even before Jason Voorhees turned it into a day of horror. In fact, the superstition comes from biblical times, according to History.com. Twelve was considered a good, complete number — 12 days of Christmas, 12 months in a year, 12 apostles — but Friday 13th is considered dangerous since there were 13 guests at the Last Supper and the following day, Jesus was betrayed — on a Friday.
If you’re superstitious about Friday the 13th, check out our list of 5 Charms to Bring Good Luck. Here, though, we’re getting rid of the bad luck by embracing the superstitions and the day’s fun fandom.
If you know someone who’s superstitious or a fan of Friday the 13th, give them a good laugh with these gifts.
How fun is this? Bring on the Friday the 13th spirit with this board game. Players have to avoid bad luck by not taking cards from the central area in each round. But if you take the most cards in the same suit, you’re in luck because you can throw them away. For 3 to 6 players, the game is fast paced and has good reviews.
Show Friday the 13th you’re not afraid with this T-shirt. You can get it in a variety of styles and sizes, plus 18 different colors. I like the purple because I feel that color is also lucky, but the tee looks good in any of the available colors, except white since the design disappears. Whatever color and style you choose, turn your luck around with this tee.
We love Funko Pop figures on Wrapped In A Ribbon. So of course we had to include one of Jason Voorhees for Friday the 13th. The figure stands 3.75 inches tall and its head rotates. It even makes the monster look cute. It’s even available on a key ring, so your friends will be able to take their adorable Jason everywhere they go.
Go all in with Friday the 13th with these ankle socks. Horror it’s just for T-shirts, after all. They come in a variety of sizes to fit all feet, and reviews say they’re comfy. Bonus!
Truly embrace the idea of Friday the 13th with this T-shirt that’s inspired by TGI Fridays and the tag line “In Here, It’s Always Friday.” Order the shirt in any size and in 18 colors. You can even get the design on different types of shirts, like long sleeve, baseball and more.
This awesome T-shirt celebrates the date but let’s us know there’s definitely something ominous about it. Not what you’d want on your calendar. But it makes a deliciously fun Friday the 13th tee.
Fans of The Cure will get a good laugh out of this T-shirt. I did! (And if you’re not a fan of The Cure, click here to see what I’m talking about.) This mashup tee has the same options as above, all the sizes, 18 colors and lots of styles. It does look really good in the black, though.
Celebrate 13 as being lucky with this stylish phone case. It fits Samsung models and is available as a snap case or tough case. The tough case is a polycarbonate shell that’s impact resistant, and it has a shock absording liner. The best part, though, is the 13 design. I love the delicate swirling background and constrasting bold numbers, which seem to dare Friday the 13th to be bad luck.
This hilarious T-shirt really puts Friday 13 into perspective. Despite any bad luck that might come your way today — and we hope it doesn’t — it’s still almost the weekend.
Of course, there’s also the Friday the 13th movies. Get your Friday 13 T-shirt on, pull on some Jason Voorhees ankle socks, and pop in a disc. It’s the best way to see this day through safely.
