In case you hadn’t heard, today is National Muffin Day! Muffins are like healthy cupcakes that are actually really good for you. It’s true. I’ve heard through the Internet that if you lick the frosting off a cupcake, it magically becomes a muffin. Who am I to dispute the facts? So what’s your favorite muffin? I used to think mine was banana nut, but it is really hard to do better than a delicious blueberry muffin. Got a recipe I should try? Let me know in the comments!
Anyway, for National Muffin Day, I figured I could come up with some fun gifts in the form of muffin tins and cookbooks, but I thought I’d dig a little deeper and aim for the more fandom side of things. I’ve scoured the Internet (while eating muffins), and come up with some of my favorite gifts to celebrate National Muffin Day. I am willing to bet that there is someone in our life that you can bring happiness to by celebrating a little muffin love!
For whatever reason (maybe I’m just old), I totally missed out on the Strawberry Shortcake fun when I was young. So when my daughter was born, you can bet I got her some darling Strawberry Shortcake stuff. I loved the character of Blueberry Muffin, and if you know someone who did also, then this is what you need. Cute POP figure with Cheesecake companion.
Okay, so this is a “Stranger Fillings” cookbook by the Muffin Brothers, and I think there may not be a more perfect and fun gift out there if you know a Stranger Things fan. The Muffin Brothers have made other fun cookbooks, such as Baking Bad and The Walking Bread (don’t we feel like we need them all!), but this one may be my favorite. Inside are recipes to turn your world Upside Down!
If you somehow missed the My Little Pony phenomenon, let me just say that it is hugely popular and that there are all kinds of ponies. Here we have darling Muffin pony (in her pony form – see the next item down for an alternative) with a “hat” and two “shoes.” Your My Little Pony Muffin lover is going to adore this gift.
And so when I mention Muffin’s other form, there are these My Little Pony movies, Equestria Girls, where they go through some kind of portal and they become like pony/human hybrid things (which I know sounds terrifying but is actually adorable and fashionable and fun). Here we have Muffin in her Equestria Girl form. My suggestion? Buy this one and the pony form above for your My Little Pony fan so they have a nice set.
This is the thing I never knew I needed in my life until I received it as a gift. It’s actually pretty hard to get, but if you have a Star Trek (the original series) fan, they are going to love the Gorn Bread Muffin figure. Mine sits on my desk and makes me smile every time I see it. Star Trek meets muffins with this (possibly not so) tasty treat.
And finally, there are all sorts of muffin mugs out there, but most of them are designed around the idea of Stud Muffin. For a change, I’ve gone with this super cute “Ain’t Muffin To It” mug. It’s colorful and cheerful and would be the perfect start (filled with coffee of course) to anyone’s day.
